Filipino flair falls short to China’s flamboyance in Final

TEHRAN, Iran (3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship): Philippines did everything perfect except exert the extra pressure that was needed to capitalize on the vulnerability in China’s defense, and thus went down 78-85 in the most competitive gold game in FIBA Asia U16 Championship history as the 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship came to a fantastic finish at the Azadi Stadium on Friday.

China thus, kept their top place in the event – with their 26th successive win, but for the first time by a single digit margin – but had to sweat out a lot more than they had, when they beat Korea in the gold medal games of the first two editions – at 2009 Johor Bahru and 2011 Nha Trang.
