Apple, Saying It Has More ‘To Cover,’ Will Host Special Event Oct. 22, iPads Expected

Apple confirmed that it will host an event on Oct. 22, adding to the speculation that it will unveil new iPads, including an iPad mini with a higher-resolution Retina display.

The invite, sent out today for an event at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, reads: “We still have a lot to cover.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to unveil a second-generation iPad mini tablet with a high-definition Retina display, as well as the fifth generation of its larger-format iPad with a better camera and new A7 microprocessor. New MacBook notebooks may also be on top. And Apple may also finally announce the ship date for the long-awaited Mac Pro desktop, which was previewed during Apple’s developers conference in June and has been touted in ads playing online and in movie theaters.
