More than 450 Indian migrants dead in Qatar in 2012-13

New Delhi (AFP) – More than 450 Indian migrants working in Qatar have died in the last two years, according to new data from the Gulf state which is under pressure over its rights record ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

In response to a Right to Information request filed by AFP, the Indian embassy in Qatar gave figures detailing the number of deaths in 2012 and the first 11 months of 2013.

Five of seven missing divers rescued, sent to Bali hospitals

(CNN) — Five of seven Japanese women who disappeared during a diving excursion off the Indonesian island of Bali last week were found alive and rescued Monday, Bali’s search and rescue agency said.

Photos distributed by Getty Images showed some of the women being transferred from a boat to ambulances on Bali on Monday, three days after they were reported missing. The women were being treated at two Bali hospitals Monday, the rescue agency said.

Man who faked sign language at Mandela memorial has faced murder, other charges

JOHANNESBURG — The sign language interpreter who gestured meaninglessly at the Nelson Mandela memorial in South Africa on Tuesday has faced charges of murder, rape, theft, breaking and entering, malicious damage to property and kidnapping, according to

The South African news site said the outcome of the murder charge against Thamsanqa Jantjie, brought in 2003, was unknown because the court case file is “mysteriously empty.”

No Tithe No Church Membership

Anyone who has had their lights, cable or phone turned off for Non-Payment knows how frustrating and humiliating it could be, but having your Church Membership turned off for Non-Payment of Tithes is a new one to me.

Dr. Karry D. Wesley (Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church) is now in the process of disconnecting members who have failed to send in a monthly tithe to his church. One of Pastor Wesley members sent us a copy of their Disconnect Notice for failure to pay monthly tithes – and we noticed that the letter made it very clear that the members are required to Pay in order to Stay.

Seven Pinoy health workers, including doctor, killed in Yemen attack – DFA exec

(Updated 12: 06 p.m.) Seven Filipino medical workers, including a doctor, were among those killed in the attack in Yemen’s Defense Ministry on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs said Friday.
At a press conference, DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said 11 other Filipinos sustained minor injuries.
All Filipinos were working in a hospital inside the ministry’s complex, Hernandez said, adding he would not disclose the identities of the victims until their next of kin have been informed.
